Triple murder in Gjilan/ 4 police officers suspended, suspected of collaborating with the perpetrators

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has announced that it has begun a preliminary investigation to verify whether any member of the Kosovo Police was involved in the criminal activity of the suspect wanted for the triple murder in Gjilan.

To preserve the integrity of the investigation and to avoid any influence on witnesses or evidence, the PIK has recommended the suspension of four police officers from the Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan.

According to the recommendation, a police sergeant and an investigator from the regional investigation unit, a police sergeant, chief of investigations at the Novo Brdo Police Station, as well as a police officer from the Rapid Reaction Unit have been suspended.

PIK, in cooperation with the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, is conducting preliminary investigations against them, for suspicions of involvement in illegal activities with elements of a criminal offense.
