In the trial for the sterilization concession, the health condition of former minister Ilir Beqaj improves

The health condition of former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, is improving. He has left the QSUT premises, where he had been hospitalized for several days for medical treatment, and has now returned to the detention facilities in Durrës.

Doctors have assessed that his condition has stabilized and he no longer needs specialized hospital care. Beqaj is being tried for the sterilization concession affair, where he is accused of violating the law and abusing public funds.

He is also indicted by SPAK for abuse of European Union funds while he was heading the SASPAC Agency. Investigations into this matter are still ongoing and are expected to further expand criminal responsibilities.
