Reformation of the DP/ Spaho responds to Alimehmet: The party only needs fair

Democratic MP Edmond Spaho has reacted to Ilir Alimehmet, one of the most voted figures of the Democratic Party on May 11, who called for a reformation of the party after the heavy defeat.

In a post on social media, Spaho says that the DP simply needs to be organized, a process that, according to him, has been lacking for 10 years.

He makes a comparison with '92, saying that the branch leaders had higher education, while today "they don't even have an 8-year education." Spaho also seems to be targeting certain people, writing that there can be no organization in the party while the 'master of disorganization' is placed at the top.

" Today, we have no structures in the branch, we have no leaders and we have few members. We are fed up with empty spoons. It is unfortunate, but if in 1992 every section chairman had a university degree, today some of us do not even have an 8-year education. With these, we try to convince citizens that we are an alternative and they should vote for us, " he says.

Further, he says that the party only needs a fair electoral competition within itself, unmanipulated and unpredetermined, adding that only then would it compete with the SP.

Spaho's full reaction:

Dear Ilir!

I don't understand this term reformatting. What does it mean? It seems like alienation, or modernization beyond what we can do.
It gives ordinary people the impression that who knows what will happen. We will reinvent the wheel.

In my opinion, the DP simply needs to be organized, because for about 10 years it has only been disorganized.
Today, we have no structures in the branch, we have no leaders, and we have few members. We are fed up with empty spoons.

It is unfortunate, but if in 1992 every section leader had a college degree, today some of them do not even have an 8-year education. With these people, we try to convince citizens that we are an alternative and that they should vote for us.

Everything in the branch is voluntary and without funding, as has never happened before in the history of this party, not even in its most difficult years.

There can be no organization when the master of disorganization is put in charge. This is called organized disorganization.

Secondly, I don't understand this opening. The DP has been tearing itself apart since 1997. We have been so open for years that our feet hurt. The DP needs neither opening nor closing, the refrain we hear every four years when we lose elections.

Ilir, the DP only needs one thing: a fair electoral competition within it, unmanipulated and unpredetermined.

When this is achieved, people will come closer to the DP and it will become capable of competing with the SP and winning against Edi Rama.
