Disney and Gina Carano settle legal dispute after leaving 'The Mandalorian'

Walt Disney and actress Gina Carano have reached an agreement following a legal dispute that began after her departure from the hit series “The Mandalorian.” The news was confirmed by a spokesperson for Lucasfilm, the Disney subsidiary that produces the series.

Carano left the project in 2021 after social media posts that Disney called “disgusting and unacceptable,” deeming them demeaning to people based on their cultural and religious identity. In 2024, the actress sued Disney for “gender discrimination” and wrongful termination, arguing that she was penalized for expressing conservative views, while male colleagues with similar views were not subject to action.

Following the conclusion of the lawsuit, Lucasfilm expressed its readiness to further cooperate with Carano in the future. For her part, the actress called the settlement "the best outcome for all parties" and thanked Elon Musk for his support during this process.

Gina Carano has been the subject of widespread criticism for her social media posts, where she has challenged COVID-19 measures and repeated disputed claims of voter fraud in the 2020 US election.
