Palestine participates in Miss Universe for the first time

Palestine has been included for the first time as a participating country in this year's Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Nadeen Ayoub will be the first woman to represent the country in the world's most famous pageant. She was crowned Miss Palestine in 2022 and will compete for the grand title with 130 other girls from around the world.

In a social media post, the 27-year-old said she wants to be a voice for the Palestinian people.

"At a time when the eyes of the world are on our homeland, I take on this role with deep responsibility. It is more than a title. It is a platform to speak on behalf of the people of Palestine, especially our women and children. We are women with dreams, talents, and a powerful voice to offer the world," she said.

The 2025 Miss Universe pageant will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 21.
