Football star Cristiano Ronaldo proposed to his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez with an expensive engagement ring.
It was Rodriguez who showed off her new sparkling ring via an Instagram post, confirming her engagement to the 40-year-old soccer star and wowing fans with the stunning ring, which featured an oval-cut center stone and two side stones.
While the couple wouldn't confirm who made the giant sparkler, experts told Page Six Style that the price could range from $2 million to $5 million. Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, estimates that the center stone is D-color and perfect clarity, potentially weighing over 30 carats, which would put its value at up to $5 million.
Meanwhile, Laura Taylor, engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, analyzed the stone choice, explaining: “Oval cuts are known for their excellent faceting, which maximizes brilliance and gives the stone a bright and vibrant appearance from every angle.”
She estimated the center stone weighed between 15 and 20 carats, costing more than $2 million.
“The center stone is surrounded by substantial side diamonds, adding even more sparkle and making the already impressive main stone appear even larger. This is a stunning ring and certainly one of the most impressive we have seen in recent years, which seems to be a perfect fit for one of football’s most famous couples,” said Taylor.
