Rita Ora in conflict with neighbors, complaints about renovations to her London

Rita Ora, the singer of hits like "I Will Never Let You Down" and "Let You Love Me," looks like she won't be getting invitations for wine and appetizers from her neighbors this Christmas.

The reason? Her plans to build a futuristic gym in her backyard have caused great discontent in the neighborhood.

The world-famous Albanian singer bought the residence in question in 2021, a historic property worth 7.5 million pounds (8.6 million euros) in north London, classified as a protected building (Grade II).

But it seems she didn't know she had moved in next to a group of NIMBY ("Not In My Back Yard") neighbors, who had previously also complained about renovations to her home.

Now, after Rita's architect unveiled plans for a gym in the lower courtyard of the property, neighbors are once again on alert. A group of residents from a nearby apartment block have filed a joint complaint.

Their document states: " Residents who chose this area for its tranquility should not be forced to live with artificial lighting, amplified noise or loss of privacy."

They also added that, despite the project mentioning soundproofing, the large sliding doors suggest there could be loud music and voices at all hours.

Neighbors mentioned that on a neighboring property there is a strict rule prohibiting large gatherings or parties, precisely to maintain peace and respect among residents.

The complaint continues : "This proposal undermines the common agreement to maintain peace and risks causing conflicts, complaints or even legal proceedings."

Another resident has even raised concerns about whether the construction of the gym will deter squirrels and foxes that live nearby.

Despite all this controversy, the gym planned by Rita will be completely insulated from noise.

However, tensions with neighbors remain high.

As the author of the original article in The Sun ironically says, " If I were Rita, I'd go to a gym like Virgin Active and with the money I'd put a giant glow-in-the-dark sculpture at the end of the garden... just to annoy them even more."
