Pete Davidson has spoken openly about the feelings of shame and embarrassment he experienced after the massive attention he received for his so-called "BDE" (Big Dick Energy), following his relationship with Ariana Grande in 2018.
In an interview on The Breakfast Club podcast , Davidson said he felt reduced to just his sex life, while no one paid attention to the work he did in his career. "I was embarrassed. No one was talking about me as an artist, just about a part of my body," he said.
The actor also recalled that he had never sought this kind of attention and that Ariana's public comments about his "greatness" made him feel even more exposed. "If this happened to a girl, there would be protests in the streets," he said.
Davidson stressed that, although on paper everything sounded "beautiful", for him it was a disturbing and "somewhat traumatic" experience.
