Chelsea, the only team in the Premier League, to start the season without a sponsor on their shirts

Chelsea are the exception. The Blues are the only club to start the Premier League season without a major sponsor on their shirt.

This is a rarity these days, especially since the only other English club to have done this so far, Nottingham Forest, has just signed a contract with an American gambling company.

According to BBC Sport, this anomaly is related to the fact that Chelsea has launched "a competitive process to find a shirt sponsor" and "wants to collaborate with a long-term partner."

Several offers have now reached the management of the London club, which is giving itself time to find a 'serious' partner.

Chelsea, who qualified for the Champions League and beat PSG (3-0) in the Club World Cup final, are said to be targeting a contract that offers them between 70 and 75 million euros per season.

A sum that Saudi airline Riyadh Air is said to be willing to pay and is the favourite in the deal, according to BBC Sport.

However, there is no reason to worry about the Blues, as this scenario has happened since the start of the last two seasons.

Last season, Saudi real estate company Damac did not appear on the jersey until the end of April.

This happened even later than the agreement reached for the 2023-2024 season with the American sports technology company Infinite Athlete.
