EU calls on parties in Kosovo: Respect the Constitutional Court's decision, there is no more time to waste!

The European Union has called on all political parties represented in the Kosovo Assembly to respect the recent decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the establishment of the new Assembly and to find the necessary compromise to advance with the process of electing the speaker and deputy speakers of the legislative body.
In a statement published on the official website of the delegation in Kosovo, the European Union stressed that " the Constitutional Court has spoken and provided important clarifications " and that there is no more time to waste in a political deadlock that is hindering the normal functioning of the Assembly and the institutions of Kosovo.
"The EU calls on all political parties represented in the Kosovo Assembly to respect this decision and find the compromise and majority necessary to move forward with the process of electing the Speaker and Deputy Speakers. There is no more time to waste in a political stalemate!", the EU statement continues.
This call comes after the decision of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo, which ordered the deputies to elect the new Speaker of the Assembly through open voting and to complete his constitution within a period of 30 days.
The process of constituting the new Parliament has been stalled for several weeks due to political disagreements between the main parliamentary parties, thus creating an impasse that is hindering the establishment of institutions.
